Stephanie and Matt's "Golden Glamour" wedding is featured in the Fall 2016 issue of Inside Weddings.
On a gorgeous day in September, Stephanie and Matt had an old Hollywood inspired wedding at Fourth Presbyterian Church, the only church on the famous Magnificent Mile. It was a dream come true for Stephanie to marry the love of her life in this grand and historic church. When Stephanie saw the church in the movie My Best Friend’s Wedding, she had a feeling she might get married there someday.
Over the last few years, we have seen a trend of large, destination weddings choosing Chicago. Our world-class city has many top rated hotels, is perfect for bicoastal families, and guests love to get their “foodie on” in Michelin rated restaurants. Stephanie and Matt decided it was a no brainer.
A couple blocks away from the ceremony, Stephanie and Matt greeted their guests on the Peninsula’s breathtaking terrace. Guests were treated to prime city views of Chicago, endless champagne, delicious hors d’oeuvres and live entertainment.
When Stephanie and Matt’s friends and family were invited into the luxurious ballroom, they were wowed by three varieties of stunning tabletop arrangements: tall, gold gilded urns full of white flowers; glamorous white feathers in crystal vases; and gilt candelabras dripping with crystals. Each table was layered with elegant details including gold-rimmed glassware. “Our inspiration was classic elegance and gilded glamour, with a touch of vintage,” Stephanie explained. They definitely accomplished their goal! Guests felt like royalty as they dined like kings and danced all night to one of Chicago’s best bands.
